Key Advocacy Issues
Dance/USA serves as the national voice for the dance ecosystem before Congress, the White House and relevant federal agencies. As one of the founding members of the Performing Arts Alliance (PAA) and an active member in various other national coalitions, Dance/USA collaborate with the overall arts/cultural sector, nonprofit sector, and business community to advocate for support for policies, legislation, and regulation which recognize and strengthen the dance ecosytem’s ability to contribute to American life. All Dance/USA members are also members of the Performing Arts Alliance.
Dance/USA is an active member of the Cultural Advocacy Group (CAG), which develops legislative issue briefs on various issues of interest. In partnership with the broader nonprofit sector, Dance/USA is an active member in the #ReliefForCharities Coalition and works with Independent Sector and the Charitable Giving Coalition on issues which impact the nonprofit sector, such as federal incentives for charitable giving.
