Launched in 2011, the National Leadership Council for Dance (NLCD) is a group of influential dance champions, enthusiasts, advocates, and leaders from across the country. NLCD members engage not only in philanthropic support for the craft, but are committed to working collectively to strengthen and advance the field at the national level. Members serve as ambassadors to the dance field in their respective home communities, as well as valued representatives and resources to Dance/USA in our nationally focused work.
Each year NLCD members:
- Make a minimum annual contribution of $2,500 to Dance/USA
- Maintain philanthropic support for the dance company, organization, or artist with which they are currently affiliated
- Serve as ambassadors for Dance/USA, sharing our resources with their respective communities and providing insight and guidance to Dance/USA leadership
As a member of the Council, individuals are invited to:
- Participate in the annual Winter Soiree in New York City and Fall Gathering in different locations across North America
- Take part in exclusive events, receptions, and conversations throughout the year
- Attend the Dance/USA National Conference featuring Council-only events
- Join Dance/USA Trustees for the annual Capitol Hill visit to advocate for dance in front of Congressional leaders
- Utilize Dance/USA’s House Seat program
- Create a community of national dance advocates

House Seat Program
