2014 Dance Forum: Dancing Our Way Through the Affordable Care Act

Dance/USA took a look at the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how it impacts the dance field.  Part I of the morning was dedicated to an overview of the ACA, its implications on our sector, as well as the general implementation timelines and details. The second half of the morning allowed for in-depth conversations with experts in the insurance and health fields with more focused information for small organizations (49 or less employees) and independent artists, plus an opportunity for Q&A. Check out the new Dance/USA ACA Resources webpage and Dance Forum Speakers for further information!

The Dance Forum was not New York-centric, but was relevant for dance-makers based all over the country. The Dance Forum also included updates from Dance/USA for 2014.APAP registration was not required.

The 2014 Dance Forum took place at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters Conference on January 10, 2014.

Dance Enrollment Days

Dance/USA and Dance/NYC were proud to partner with the Actors Fund to offer Dance Enrollment Days in conjunction with the 2014 Dance Forum for New-York based artists only (as State Exchanges are state-specific). This was not the only time dance artists could enroll, this was an opportunity for Dance/USA to bring attention to the enrollment period, which closes March 31, 2014.

Dance Enrollment Days occured on January 13 and 14, 2014 between the hours of 10am and 5pm.  Three locations were available for consultations.

Dance/USA is deeply grateful to Gibney Dance Center for their generous support in hosting Dance/USA's Councils that convened after the 2014 Dance Forum.
