Mimi Glass (she/her) is a native of Nashville, TN. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and minors in Spanish and Archaeology. It was at MTSU that she first discovered partner dancing and promptly joined the Salsa and Swing Dance clubs.
Her formal career in dance began after graduating from college when she joined a ballroom dance studio as a teacher and performer. During this time, she also began teaching and organizing events for the local Latin dance community in Nashville. Several years later she accepted an internship at Dance Place, officially bringing her to the Washington, DC area. After interning for 9 months, Mimi entered George Mason University’s Master of Arts Management Program. She graduated in 2019. She has worked at various arts organizations in the area including Workhouse Arts Center, Hylton Performing Arts Center, Arlington Ballroom, Salsa With Sylvia, Born 2 Dance, and Modern Ballroom Dance Studio.
Mimi is most passionate about a partner dance style called Brazilian Zouk, which she has trained in and taught for many years. She has performed and taught all over the country and continues to teach in the DMV area through her dance company called Mariposa Dance that specializes in teaching Brazilian Zouk.
