Ashley Walden Rumber is the Interim Chief of Staff at Dance/USA. She brings her experience as the Founder and CEO of Unlock Creative LLC & Foundation, a social enterprise supporting Black creative leadership, and the Founder/President of the National Black Women’s Creative Cooperative.
With 20 years of experience in nonprofit arts management, she’s a leader in equity and inclusiveness. Her background includes roles at Alternate ROOTS, Cornerstone Theater Company, and academic positions. She has also served on various boards and advisory councils.
She holds an MFA in Producing from California Institute of the Arts and a BA in Theatre Studies from Old Dominion University. Some selected honors include the Association of Performing Arts Professional (APAP) Leadership Fellowship, Theater Communications Group (TCG) New Generations: Future Leaders Grant, and Cornerstone Theater Company Paula Altvater Fellowship.
