Dance/USA to Honor Donald Byrd, Zenetta S. Drew, Grace “SwaHuux” Gillette, and Amy Fitterer

Washington, DC – Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance, is pleased to announce the Dance/USA 2021 Honorees:

  • Donald Byrd, Artistic Director, Spectrum Dance Theater, will receive the Dance/USA Honor Award.
  • Zenetta S. Drew, Executive Director, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, will receive the Dance/USA ‘Ernie’ Award.
  • Grace “SwaHuux” Gillette, Executive Director, Denver March Powwow, will receive the Dance/USA Trustees Award.
  • Amy Fitterer, Executive Director, Dance/USA, will receive the Dance/USA Trustees Award.

Dance/USA will celebrate the 2021 Honorees in a virtual Honors Ceremony on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 6pm ET.  Registration and additional details about the event will be announced in 2021. Read about the Dance/USA 2021 Honorees here.

Nominations for Dance/USA Awards are accepted from the entire dance community. Final selections, recognized for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the dance field, are voted on by the Dance/USA Board of Trustees.
