SEN. HARKIN (D-IA), NEW CHAIRMAN OF SENATE HELP COMMITTEE
The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions oversees a broad spectrum of policy issues including arts education and national service. Though it will be difficult to fill the position previously held by Senator Kennedy, Senator Tom Harkin has the reputation of being a strong supporter of education, arts education and national service programs.

ARTISTS FROM ABROAD – THE TAX WEBINAR

The U.S. tax requirements for foreign guest artists are vastly different than the laws for U.S. residents. Do you have all the information you need to be in compliance with IRS requirements? Learn the essentials about Internal Revenue Service (IRS) withholding rules from attorney Robyn Guilliams, contributor to the www.artistsfromabroad.org web site, including insight into tax treaties, the latest news regarding U.S. tax identification numbers, and tips for planning ahead to avoid last-minute tax mishaps. The fee is $125 or $200 for both the Tax and Visa webinars.
