SEN. HARKIN (D-IA), NEW CHAIRMAN OF SENATE HELP COMMITTEE
The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions oversees a broad spectrum of policy issues including arts education and national service. Though it will be difficult to fill the position previously held by Senator Kennedy, Senator Tom Harkin has the reputation of being a strong supporter of education, arts education and national service programs.
