BAVC is a 23-year-old nonprofit digital broadcast postproduction
media facility and center,
which offers subsidized video preservation services to the nonprofit
sector. In 1994, BAVC
was awarded an NEA Challenge Grant to develop low-cost cleaning
and remastering services
for 1/2" and 3/4" formats. In 1996, with Getty support, BAVC organized
an international conference
to present a year-long research project with art conservators from
the American Institute for
Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. Since 1995, BAVC has
been working with a consortium funded by NIPAD to develop dance
documentation techniques for small and mid-size dance
companies, and has published its results in a report, Learning Applications
to Document Dance.

National Dance Association has one of the oldest collections in
the U.S. that tracks dance
education from around 1932. It is open to the public for use.

The National Museum of Dance curates dance exhibits, hosts creative
residencies for
