Washington, DC – Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance, announces its 2012 Annual Conference, which will take place in San Francisco, CA from Wed., June 27 through Sat., June 30. The fourth annual conference is the country’s broadest gathering of dance professionals, including executive directors, artistic directors, company managers, choreographers, artists, presenters, agents, and others.

More than 50 speakers will host professional development sessions and in-depth discussions about important issues facing the dance field. Programming will examine a broad variety of topics including:

  • Diversity within the field of dance
  • Opportunities for new and meaningful collaborations
  • How to maximize technology, web, and social media tools

Based on a new “campus-style” format, conference sessions will be held in multiple venues, including host partners, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and ODC Dance Campus. This format will allow attendees greater opportunity to explore the host city and connect with the local arts scene. A coalition of 30 individuals from the local San Francisco area serves as the Annual Conference Host Committee. It is co-chaired by Wayne Hazzard, executive director of Dancer’s Group, and Glenn McCoy, executive director of San Francisco Ballet.

Dance/USA is grateful to American Airlines and American Harlequin Corporation, title sponsors of the 2012 Annual Conference.
