Dance/USA Membership Information

Dance/USA memberships are renewable annually. Dues are invoiced at the end of the prior fiscal year (June). All members have the first quarter to pay dues in full or establish a written payment plan with Dance/USA. To become a member of Dance/USA, simply download an application, and return it with payment. You will be added to our database and begin receiving materials immediately.

ARTIST

Dance/USA has created a new membership category specifically for artists who are not associated with 501c3 organizations. This category of membership is for those who would not consider themselves a dancer or student, and want to be included in the larger community of creative artists. In order to qualify for Dance Company Membership, an organization must:

  • Have not-for-profit, tax-exempt status, and show evidence of professional status and orientation.
  • Maintain a paid artistic staff of at least one and a paid administrative staff of at least one.
  • Been in continuous operation for two years.
  • Maintain an on-going performance activity.

FY 2008 (July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008) Companies Dues Structure

FY 2008 dues are calculated based on FY 2007 operating revenue and are as follows:
  1. Up to $100,000: $150
  2. $100,001–200,000: $225
  3. $200,001–400,000: $400
  4. $400,001–600,000: $750
  5. Companies with FY 2007 operating revenue between $600,000 and $999,999 pay dues according to the following formula:
    FY 2008 Dues = FY 2007 Operating Revenue × 0.00173
  6. Companies with FY 2007 Operating Revenue between $1,000,000 and $2,999,999 pay dues according to the following formula:
    FY 2008 Dues = FY 2007 Operating Revenue × 0.00185
  7. Companies with FY 2007 Operating Revenue between $3,000,000 and $7,999,999 pay dues according to the following formula:
    FY 2008 Dues = $3,750 base dues + (FY 2007 Operating Revenue × 0.00045)
  8. Companies with FY 2007 Operating Revenue of $8,000,000 or more pay dues of $8,700.

This category of membership is available to dance companies and dance-related institutions based in countries other than the United States. International members receive one copy of all publications and mailings, access to appropriate council meetings, and registration discounts for the biennial National Roundtable.
