Membership Exclusive Benefits

Employees of Membership Organizations can access Dance/USA Benefits as appropriate to their membership category. 

Archiving and Preservation:

  • Free Archiving and Preservation phone consultation
  • Archiving and Preservation Affinity Group open to all members, regardless of member category

Leadership and Learning:

Research:

  • Access to 5-year financial trend analysis on non-profit dance organizations from 2017-2021 (coming soon!)
  • Access to member survey data
  • Assistance/resource support to find data needed for planning, grant-writing, etc.

Advocacy:

  • Monthly Advocacy Office Hours: discuss specific federal, state, and local advocacy opportunities for members to lean in with their voices to address various issues of interest.
  • Advocacy Google Group
  • Talking points and assistance with scheduling visits to speak with federally elected officials
  • Five peer consultation letters for Visa applications per year, additional letters $100 each

The Dance/USA Agents, Managers, Producers & Promoters membership category is comprised of booking agents and artist representatives for companies and artists large and small, emerging to established. Members in this category are invited to actively participate in the Agents, Managers, Producers & Promoters Council. 

 

Membership Dues: $125 

The Dance Company membership category is open to dance companies of all sizes and genres that meet the following criteria:  

  • Maintain an on-going performance activity; 

  • Maintain a paid artistic or administrative staff of at least one, and regularly compensate performers; 

  • Have been in continuous operation for at least one year. 

 

*If you do not meet any of the above criteria, you may still be eligible for membership. Please contact the Membership Team via email for more information. Dance companies located outside of the United States are encouraged to join as International Affiliate members. 

 

The administrative and artistic leaders of dance company members are invited to actively participate in one of the several Dance/USA Councils and Affinity Groups on their organization’s budget size. 

 

Membership Dues: 

  • Dance Companies with Budgets of $15 Million and Greater: $10,000 

  • Dance Companies with Budgets Between $3 Million and $14.9 Million: $7,750 or $5,250 

  • Dance Companies with Budgets $750,000 and $2.9 Million: $2,000 or $1,275 

  • Dance Companies with Budgets $749,000 and Below: $550, $400, or $250

The Dance/USA Presenters membership category is open to presenters of all dance forms, organizational size, and structure that meet the following criteria: 

  • Have not-for-profit, tax-exempt status and show evidence of professional status orientation 

  • Maintain a paid administrative staff of at least one 

  • Have been in continuous operation for at least two years 

  • Maintain an on-going performance activity

Members in this category are invited to actively participate in the Presenters Council. The Council exists to provide a forum for peer-to-peer exchanges in issues affecting the touring and presenting of dance, as well as dialogue about issues affecting the broader dance community. 

 

Membership Dues: $325 

The Dance/USA Service Organization membership category is open to organizations whose primary focus is providing service to the field and that meet the following criteria: 

  • Have not-for-profit, tax-exempt status and show evidence of professional status orientation 

  • Maintain a paid administrative staff of at least one 

  • Have been in continuous operation for at least two years 

  • Maintain an on-going service activity

Members in this category are invited to actively participate in the Service Organizations Council. The Council offers opportunities to share best practices and programs, address challenges, create joint programming, garner vital information from specially invited experts, and to network with colleagues from across the country. 

 

Membership Dues: $300 

The Dance/USA Business Affiliate membership category is open to for-profit and not-for-profit corporations who work with the dance community. Members in this category are encouraged to be an Annual Conference sponsor or exhibitor. Contact Dance/USA’s Director of Development for more information. 

 

Membership Dues: $400 

The Dance/USA Education Affiliate membership category is open to dance or dance-related departments or programs of colleges and universities, conservatories, schools, and pre-professional training programs. Members in this category are invited to actively participate in the Education Council. 

 

Membership Dues: $275 

The International Affiliate membership category is open to dance related institutions outside of the U.S. Members in this category are invited to actively participate in one of several Dance/USA Councils and Affinity Groups depending on their organization’s focus. 

 

Membership Dues: $1,300 

The Individual membership category is open to individuals, professional dance artists and students not affiliated with an incorporated organization or creating work in a structure other than the traditional 501(c)3 “company” structure. The Individual membership category is open to independent consultants, teaching artists, patrons of dance, and others who wish to keep up with the professional dance field through Dance/USA publications, events, and emails. Professionals who are affiliated with a dance-related organization are encouraged to join as an organization or affiliate member. 

 

Membership Dues: $75

Payment Plan Options

To calculate your payment plan, first determine your total dues amount, select a payment plan, and divide accordingly. For assistance in calculating your dues payments, please contact the Membership Department.

Quarterly (4 equal payments)

  • 25% due on February 15
  • 25% due on May 15
  • 25% due on August 15
  • 25% due on November 15

The 50-50 Plan

  • 50% due on February 15
  • 50% due on July 15

Monthly (10 equal payments)

  • Due on February 15
  • Due on March 15
  • Due on April 15
  • Due on May 15
  • Due on June 15
  • Due on July 15
  • Due on August 15
  • Due on September 15
  • Due on October 15
  • Due on November 15

Please Note: If a payment plan is selected and the payment method is a credit card, the credit card will be saved and automatically charged on the due date of the selected payment plan. All dues may be paid in full at anytime, regardless of chosen payment plan.
