Workshop Option 1
News You Can Use: Market Research and Segmentation Strategies that can grow your customer base and increase earned and contributed income.

Facilitator(s): Jerry Yoshitomi, an independent consultant who trains artists and arts organizations in new methods to increase participation and revenues by broadening, deepening and diversifying audiences. He’s been contracted by arts organizations, foundations, and federal, provincial, state and municipal arts agencies in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and most recently the United Kingdom.
Workshop Option 2
Harnessing Demand Dynamics: Strategies that work for your Company
Description: In this workshop, TRG’s founder and CEO Rick Lester will teach a mini-course in demand management that focuses on the industry best practice of demand-based pricing. A leader in the development of demand management strategy, Mr. Lester will provide an executive level overview on the principles of demand in the performing arts. He will present participants with a case study designed to provide real time practice in demand analysis and deployment of strategies that impact revenues positively. Workshop participants will review the case in small groups and present their case findings, demonstrating what can be learned universally and in their own cases. Prior to the workshop, participants will be asked to bring with them readily available performance sales reports that they will use in the workshop to identify ways demand management can most benefit their individual organizations.
Facilitator(s): Rick Lester is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Target Resource Group (TRG). He has a 25-year career in entertainment marketing; directed marketing programs for the Cleveland Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra; served as executive director for the orchestras of San Antonio, TX and Charlotte, NC. He holds an MBA from Queens College in Charlotte, NC.

Social Networking Websites and Audience Development
Description: If your organization is unsure if social networking websites will make an effective platform within your existing audience and donor strategies, this session will help you make an informed decision. Starting with an overview of the social networking field, we will explore some successful applications of social networking technology, and help attendees build company profiles on facebook.com and (time permitting) myspace.com.
Facilitator: Sydney Skybetter is a choreographer and Associate Producer with the DancenOw/NYC Festival. He dances with Christopher Williams, and has presented work at Dance Theater Workshop and University Settlement, among other venues. He is a Graduate Assistant in Dance History and Masters Candidate in Dance Performance and Choreography at NYU.

Description: Analyze your web site to determine if it has what it takes to pique the interest of patrons 20 to 40 years old.

Search Engine Marketing and Advertising
Description: Increase the visibility and potential traffic to your web site from search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Advertise, inform and engage your audience using the web-based Google AdWords program, free for non-profits.
Facilitator: Robert Capili,Robert Capili is the Chief Technologist for Voice of Dance, a leading online dance directory. He enjoys harnessing new and emerging technologies to create fun, exciting applications that deliver value to visitors and create a competitive advantage for his clients. Current areas of interest include social networking, monetization, self-optimization and geolocation.

Getting the Most of Your Video: Recording, Producing, and Sharing Your Video
Description: Video production costs along with technical restrictions have long prevented artists from sharing time-based work. These restrictions have now disappeared. We will show you how. In addition to YouTube, there are a plethora of video sharing sites that serve as social networks. We will walk-through a few methods and tools that will allow you to fully participate in these communities.

Facilitators:
Chris Elam is the choreographer for Misnomer Dance Theater, a contemporary company. In addition to artistic collaborations with Bjork, Apple Computers, Sundance Channel, Danish Dance Theatre, and others, Chris has developed innovative online models to help dance make better use of web technologies. Chris blends his background in dance with his training in public policy and computer science from Brown University.
Jaki Levy is an online developer, new media enthusiast, and currently the resident technologist for Misnomer Dance Theater. In addition to his theater and online marketing consulting work, he leads workshops in online outreach and marketing, video production, and web design. Jaki holds a Masters Degree from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program and was Cisco's Digital Incubator grant recipient in 2006.
Kristin Sloan was a dancer with the New York City Ballet until recently. Her interest in the intersection of art and technology lead to the creation of The Winger, a collaborative dance blog where dance insiders write about their experiences. Sloan has also created video work for NYCB, and now serves as their New Media Director.
