Late Night Movement:
Salsa 101 with Barbara Bernstein and Tamara Henry

SALSA 101. Never done salsa before? Well, get ready to learn the moves that will get you out on the floor dancing quickly.  This class will give you the basics and teach you some styling that will make you look better than the average beginner dancer while being a lot of fun too! No partner necessary!
 
Already know the basics? Then you'll be able to experience a lesson in Cuban-style Salsa!
Cuban-style Salsa is the lively, group form of Salsa dancing done by couples in a circle. With frequent partner exchanges, it's is a great way to quickly learn beautiful moves that range from simple to very elaborate.


Barbara Bernstein
Barbara Bernstein established DanceInTimeProductions in 2002 as a Cuban Salsa School in the DC metro area.  Bernstein holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Maryland with expertise in teaching methods.  Her dance background includes ballroom, Salsa/Rueda, and International Folk Dance. She has taught at studios, clubs, athletic facilities, etc. and produced a one-hour Millenium Stage show for the Kennedy Center, a show for the Verizon Center, and many other venues.  Barb was also chosen to judge the "World Salsa/Rueda Championship Contest" in Miami at the first two annual international competitions in '04 and '05.  In '07, Bernstein taught a workshop and her team performed at the prestigious Miami Salsa Congress (where they're performing again this year). A DanceInTime team also performed in '08 at the Puerto Rico Congress, and performs regularly at the New York, DC, and Philadelphia Congresses.

Tamara Henry
Tamara Henry loves dance! She has studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, ballroom and salsa with the nation's top artists and performers in their field to include Edie the Salsa Freak and SCAM (Salsa Casino at Maryland). Currently, Tamara is the Director of Artistic Rhythms Alliance, the Dance Commander of the Bulldogs Boot Camps and teaches dance classes throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In addition to teaching, Tamara enjoys performing and has had the opportunity to perform at several venues to include: Millenium Stage, Wolf Trap, Dance Place, East Coast Jazz Festival,  the Duke Theatre on 42nd Street in New York City, and most recently performed at the Lincoln Center in New York City with the New York Philaharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Marvin Hamlisch. Tamara holds a Masters and an Advanced Professional Certificate in Secondary Education and School Administration and Supervision.
