The DeVos Institute, housed within the Kennedy Center, offers competitive internships for aspiring arts managers to gain critical hands-on experience in many areas of performing arts management. DeVos Institute Interns develop valuable relationships in the industry by training with Kennedy Center Staff within departments aligned with their interests. Interns also gain a broad understanding of the performing arts industry by participating in weekly seminars and activities, attending Kennedy Center performances and events, and connecting with a vast network of DeVos Institute alumni.
Internships are full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (20-30 hours per week) unpaid opportunities. Interns may receive transportation assistance, complementary tickets to Kennedy Center performances, and/or academic credit upon request. Internships are offered in many Kennedy Center departments including: Fundraising; Marketing; Education; Programming; IT; Production Management; Institutional Affairs; DeVos Institute of Arts Management; Washington National Opera; and National Symphony Orchestra.
Applicants must be a current undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior; current graduate student; or recent college graduate (3 years or less). Click here for more information.

Performers in Transition Arts Management Fellowship is an opportunity for professional dancers in New York City who have a committed interest in transitioning into arts management.
The Fellowship runs from June 2012 to September 2013 and will provide formal arts management training and applied experience in producing with a Brooklyn based dance organization. This opportunity is offered in conjunction with the BAM Professional Development Program that will provide professional development training and deeply discounted theater and rehearsal studio rental to a select group of Brooklyn non-profit organizations each year. the DeVos Institute of Art Management is an immersive program in arts
management strategy designed to prepare mid-career arts managers for
executive positions in today’s complex arts environment. The Fellowship
offers a structured blend of academic training, hands-on work
experience, independent and collective learning opportunities, and
personalized mentoring. Fellows develop close working relationship with
Kennedy Center leadership, complete significant projects within the
context of the Kennedy Center, and are connected to a vast network of
Institute alumni throughout the United States and in 39 countries.
