Non-Members Visa Letter Cost Increase

As of January 1, 2007, Dance/USA will begin charging $150 for non-member visa consultation letters.  Dance/USA members will still be able to obtain free visa consultation letters. **Note** Dance/USA member Agents and Artist Representatives receive 30% off visa letters for companies or individuals on their roster who are not members of Dance/USA.

Problems with Visa Processing? Tell Dance/USA!

As the American Arts Alliance continues to work to improve USCIS policy, please keep us informed of your petition processing experiences under this new arrangement.  There is much that we do not as yet know about this changeover, and we must be prepared to provide USCIS with feedback on issues ranging from processing problems to unexpected or unwelcome petition outcomes.  Email Amy Fitterer at afitterer@danceusa.org with any visa processing problems you may be experiencing.

Dance/USA acts as the recognized peer organization for dance professionals who seek to obtain visas from the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). This service is free to all Dance/USA members; nonmembers pay $150 for each letter of support. When provided adequate support materials, we provide a letter stating an advisory opinion to the USCIS that the applicant meets the requirements for obtaining the visa. Dance/USA responds to any request for visa assistance within three days.

If you wish to take advantage of this service, please fax (202) 833-2686 the following items to Dance/USA:

1.       A written request for Dance/USA to write a support letter

2.       The O or P petition you are submitting to the USCIS

3.       A current resume for the dancer you wish to hire

4.       Copies of any awards or certificates that prove excellence in the dance field

5.       Background materials on the dancer, such as letters of recommendation from previous employers

6.       Any relevant press clippings, articles, or performance reviews of the dance.

Dance/USA generally recommends obtaining a letter of no objection from the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) to accompany Dance/USA's letter of support. Although Dance/USA is the recognized peer group for professional dance companies by the USCIS, AGMA's support is still important in most cases. To obtain a support letter from AGMA, please call (212) 265-3687.
