The Emerging Leaders in Dance Task Force presented final recommendations in four areas to the Dance/USA Board in November, 2009.  Recommendations included building a communications mesh to manage online communications across the sector for emerging leaders, seeking support for a sustained subsidy program to assist emerging leaders in attending national convenings, supporting self-organizing emerging leader affinity groups in different regions and launching a mentorship program.  The Board of Dance/USA, responded positively to the recommendations of the task force and is seeking the financial resources to support the development and implementation of programs in these areas. 

The Institute for Leadership Training has grown out of these recommendations.
