Capitalization in a Recessionary Economy, by Rodney Christopher of Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF)
In the current economic climate, traditional thinking about how to best capitalize a premier dance company may be flawed. We’ll engage in a conversation about your balance sheets, particularly your endowments and reserves, and how you can manage your business in this economic climate to provide the optimal capitalization to serve your needs now and well into the future.

Special thanks to the Nonprofit Finance Fund for providing this seminar, which was made possible through the generous support of the MetLife Foundation.

Task Force on Dancer's Health Forum 11:00am - 12:00pm

“What Do I Do With All of the Information from the Post-Hire Screen For Professional Dancers?”
by Heather Herod Cole, MSPT
If you have previously participated or are interested in participating in conducting the post-hire screen for professional dancers, and need to know what to do with your data, this presentation should provide some clarity.  Heather Herod Cole, with the feedback from the Research committee, created a template using Microsoft Excel for data entry purposes.  The objectives of the presentation are:
1. To become familiar with the basics of Microsoft Excel, including how to do easy calculations
2. To learn how to navigate through the screen template
3. To learn how to enter the data from the objective portion of the screen into the Microsoft Excel template in a way that’s consistent with all companies that are participating
It is the hope of the research committee to have a basic, easy-to-use tool that is consistent across companies.  By doing so, this will provide an easier way to compare dancer injuries across the nation and increase the potential for research opportunities.
This is a program you can download free of charge that you can use for your dance company.  Please feel free to bring along your flash drive or computer so you can obtain a copy.
