Cathy Pruzan started dancing at the age of three in Seattle, WA, and went on to the University of Washington where she majored in dance. Pruzan moved to San Francisco in the early 70's to pursue a professional dance career; she became a soloist with the San Francisco Opera Ballet, Carlos Carvajal's Dance Spectrum, and finished her career with ODC/San Francisco.
After retiring from the stage, Pruzan worked for a worker's comp law firm; a voiceover academy and casting agency; composers for radio, television, and film, including the Skywalker Sound Staff; and came back to ODC/San Francisco as booking and tour manager.
In 1998, as an associate with Art Becofsky and Associates, Pruzan increased her roster to represent international dance companies touring in North America. Currently, her roster includes international and domestic dance companies, whose works range from pure dance to theater/performance art. In addition to securing engagements for the artists, Pruzan is also committed to finding ways of working in communities to strengthen awareness of the arts through education and meaningful residencies.
Pruzan currently lives in Marin County, CA, with her husband Jeff, and their kids, Max and Leah.
