History

Since 1983, Dance/USA has conducted an annual data survey of its member dance companies, collecting comprehensive fiscal and operational information on company activity. In 1986, Dance/USA began collecting data on personnel compensation and benefits trends in the field through a survey of its member companies. These surveys help paint a picture of the national dance field by offering an in-depth look at each year’s group of participating member companies.

The most recent aggregate results are made available to the public. Detailed compensation, financial, and operations data is shared with participating member companies.
