Dance/USA was founded in 1982 following the release of a report by the Task Force for a National Dance Organization, which called for the establishment of a national service organization for professional dance. Dance/USA's members include over 400 ballet, modern, ethnic, jazz and tap companies, dance service and presenting organizations, individuals, and other organizations nationwide.

Dance/USA recently completed a strategic planning process to help shape and focus our energies for the next three to five years.
