Wednesday, June 16

Opening Night Reception
Wednesday, June 16, 5:30-8:00pm
Start the conference in sophisticated style on the banks of the Potomac River at the exquisite House of Sweden. Built in 2006, it is the home of the Embassy of Sweden and representatives of Swedish commerce, and contains stunning exhibition spaces and views that include lush parks and harbor promenades. The reception will be accented by site specific performances from DC artists Daniel Burkholder, Maida Withers, and Jane Franklin Dance.

Dance/USA and the DC Host Committee thank The Washington Ballet for hosting the Opening Night Reception and the House of Sweden for donating the venue for the Reception.



Ballet Across America II

Wednesday, June 16, 7:30-9:00pm
The successful Ballet Across America returns to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, featuring Houston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Ballet Arizona, Tulsa Ballet, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, and North Carolina Dance Theatre.
Specially-priced $25 tickets for the Wednesday, June 16 performance are no longer available. Conference attendees may still purchase $30 tickets for any performance by showing their badge at The Kennedy Center Box Office. Performances take place June 15, 16, 17, 18, & 19 at 7:30pm and June 19 & 20 at 1pm. For schedule and tickets, click here.



Post-Performance Party (after Ballet Across America II)
Wednesday, June 16, 9:00-11:00pm

An exclusive reception hosted by The Kennedy Center (on the box tier of the Opera House) immediately following the Ballet Across America II performance. Conference attendees and Ballet Across America II company artists will mix and mingle.

Breaking Down Borders: An Emerging Leaders Networking Event

Honors Celebration Reception
Friday, June 18, 6:00-8:30pm

Join Dance/USA at the 2010 Honors Celebration to recognize this year's Honor Award recipient Carmen de Lavallade and Ernie Award (named for the late Ian “Ernie” Horvath) recipient Richard J. Caples. Champion Awards will be presented to The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation and the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation. This extraordinary event, taking place at the spectacular U.S. Botanic Garden at the foot of Capitol Hill, is cause for reflection upon these individuals' contributions to dance in America and an acknowledgement of the roles they play in the national dance community.
